Reading notes: Old Man And The Sea

I read the Old Man and the Sea on a long flight with little to do after keeping it in my backpack for literal months. Like most of Hemmingway's work, the book is quite short, and written in a style that's easily digestable. Making it somewhat ideal for a long and tiring flight with poor inflight entertainment.
I'm a bit unsure how I would really rate the book, it was quite enjoyable and I got through it easily, but it didn't really leave an impression on me. While some of the themes of the book are interesting, they seem underexplored and partly due to the short length of the book are only touched on in a paragraph or two.
I'm happy to have experienced the book, and I'm sure that I'll read some of Hemmingway's other work, such as 'A Farewell To Arms', but I don't think this will be a good I actively think about in the future as some of Herman Hesse's work.
